We are looking for someone who can deliver creative and innovative designs and proposals for POSM (Point of Sale Marketing). The task is to design promotional printed graphic display items that work well in retail environments. They have to be ideas that are creative, innovative, replicable, scalable, simple, attractive, etc. We are a printing company, so the proposals should have to do with printed material.
POS (Point of Sale) and POP (Point of Purchase) are both part of POPM (Point of Purchase Materials). Both of these are used to display and promote products on the shelf in brick and mortar stores. POSM contains different types of materials, installations, and tools from anything such as free-standing displays to promotional ‘dump bins’.
A Point of Purchase (POP) is considered the place where people can purchase products.
Point of Sale (POS) is where the actual sale process takes place such as the cashier register. While POP and POS displays are placed in different locations inside a store, both of them are used to promote products and to attract customers.
$400 USD (prize for contest winner)
We are also open to the idea of buying additional proposals from the designers who don't win the contest. Each proposal for a prize of $50 USD.
The proposals would be implemented in Mexico. We are interested in knowing what is happening in stores around the world with the described profile (POP & POS locations). Here are some examples so that YOU designers have total clarity of what is expected.
POSM display item examples:
POSM Items, Gondola, Popper, Floodstand, Hangsell, Tray Display, Wobblers, Danglers, Pricers, Banners, Posters, Stoppers, Pendants, Floor Vinyls, Countertop Mats, etc.
Examples of POP & POS locations:
Convenience stores, Pharmacies, Retail stores, Brick and Mortar stores
Examples of these locations in Mexico:
7-Eleven, OXXO, Farmacias del Ahorro, Farmacias Benavides, HEB, AutoZone
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
Focus on PRINTED promotional material (on walls, floors, ceiling, trays, racks, counters). NO restrictions regarding sizes, formats, materials (rigid & flexible).
It is important to consider scalability. Imagine standardizing something that needs to be printed for and sent to all stores nationwide.
Can be easily transported together with other printed promotional material inside a cardboard box, without being damaged.
In case structural displays are proposed, these must be EASY to assemble (easy enough for a 10 year old to do).
Proposals do not need to be complex. We are looking for different & creative ways to communicate at the POP/POS.
Do not focus on the promotion (words, numbers, or pictures), rather focus on the design and creative ways to advertise products. Remember, it must be printed!
Any complements such as clips, hangers, holders, clamps, magnets, double sided tape, etc. are optional for all proposals. If such complements are required, they must be addressed/explained.
NO DIGITAL ADVERTISING
We are NOT looking for any 2D or 3D design displays that require materials such as:
Foamed PVC sheet
8 creative proposals/solutions across brand, packaging, print, advertising
Development of design and prototype design
Technical data sheet (TDS) for the displays (materials, measurements, etc.)
