This contest is for a logo for a new company that operates within the children's residential homes sector. The company will be focused on delivering quality children’s services, helping young people achieve full self expression, succeed educationally, socially and professionally. As well as significantly growing the number of our children’s homes.

We want something that looks contemporary and elegant and simple - No logos based on simple icons!
Examples have been provided as to what captains of industry logos we like.

The Logo should say the company name: Milhaven or MCCH or Milhaven Children's Care Homes
Ideally something identifiable as with a business card that requires breathing space around the logo.

I would love for the designer to have thought out their design based on our requirements and some elements of the logos we've attached to be incorporated in the design so that I can just use that on marketing material .and socials, for the Website Favicon, Website Logo when users scroll down with text and without. Also for an App Icon in future and for use in other printed or online marketing material independent of the full logo.

Some choices of colours used for identity are: a blue but not navy blue and yellow-ish . Green and Brown (earthy tones ). Red and yellow (not to abrasive though)

Use the colours from the logos provided as inspiration.

I'll add into the attachment section all images for you to take inspiration from and are similar to what we'd like to see.

Winner to provide RGB + HEX colours for web and other marketing

The designer would need to stick to the following fonts. The clearer, the better as it will be seen and be readable on all marketing materials and website etc.

Font used should be Google Font either Open Sans, Poppins or Montserrat or a mixture of 2 of these.
Happy for you to use other Google fonts as long as they compliment each other and are appropriate for the organisation

If using two fonts you will need to provide font family used and font weights.

File formats for final logo design from the winner:
As a vectors in all of these formats .ai, .pdf, .eps, .svg and .webp

We require all the following as part of the final handover:
Logo with requested file types
Brand Style Guide with Typography inline with the information provided

For those claiming that a simple design winning is the issue. What you have to realise is that design is subjective. It's not what you think as a designer that wins it's what the business owners want and feel matches their vision that wins.

Also, this is more general feedback: In future it would help if contributors pay a little more attention to the contest details next time and I quote:
"We want something that looks contemporary and elegant and simple - No logos based on simple icons!"

I'm seeing a lot of copies and not much original content it's in your interest to send in content with the brief being thought about.

However, on the bright side, there are quite a few designs definitely in the running which I have not scored so I will award based on originality and fulfilling design brief.

• Please do not rate any of the designs until you are 100% sure of choosing a winner.
If you give one contestant a good rating, the other contestants will copy it, that's what a lot of designers do here,
they wait to see which design has the best rating to copy it and get a better rating and steal the prize.

some copycats are uploading original work by changing it slightly which is totally a crime. I hope the CONTEST HOLDER respects the original artist. the CH rejected the original entry. If any changes or enhancements to the original entry are required, please let the original artist know. Most of the time it is heartbreaking when copycats come in at the last minute and win the competition by slightly altering the original artwork.
