I need a logo for my new startup called "Clean Power Labs". This company focuses on communication between renewable energy storage systems, battery inverters, solar inverters, solar panels and electric utilities. This for commercial and utility-scale. It is not for residential solar, so elements evoking homes are not the direction in the right direction.

The logo should be relatively simple and limited to three or four colors at maximum. It should look decent in monochrome (black + white + 2 gray levels). It should look decent when downsampled to 44px and centered in a circle (LinkedIn small logo style).

EVALUATION CRITERIA:
1. The logo should be professional looking. I am fairly competent with graphics, but I want a logo that clearly indicates that it was created by a professional -- not an amateur.
2. The logo, without any logotype, should allow business people that I interact with that the logo is for a clean energy company.
3. Assume I meet with someone and do a presentation where my logo is prominently and repeatedly presented for 20 minutes. If two weeks later that person sees just my logo, and not any logotype, then that person should immediately remember my company name "Clean Power Labs" and recall the kind of services I offer. Ideally "CPL" would be in the logo, but just "C" might be okay. I don't just want a "CPL" nor a "C" logo though.
4. The logo should look sophisticated. I offer complex, high-tech services and my logo should represent that. My Logo should be a bit more "KIKI" than "BOUBA".


GUIDANCE:
* Because of the negative implications, simply using the letters 'CP' is not acceptable. 'C' alone is acceptable. 'CPL' is acceptable.
* The logo should be on a plain white background. No downlighting. No shiny surfaces. No black background. No business cards. no buildings.
* The logo should be separable from the logotype. A primary use will be for an LinkedIn icon for a company page. Any submissions where the logo is inseparable from the logotype will be rejected.
* I've seen enough logos with lightning bolts. New entries should avoid lightning bolts and electrical sparks.
* My major customer has a logo that features a light-bulb design, so I cannot accept a similar light-bulb design.

THE FINAL ENTRY WILL BE REVERSE-IMAGE SEARCHED EXTENSIVELY.

    My preferred color palette seems to be green as primary, orange (or orange-yellow) as secondary, and blue as the tertiary (accent color).

    Gradients are only okay as a supplemental to the primary non-gradient logo. There are times when the logo is displayed on large size TV and it looks more interesting with a gradient. The primary evaluation will be for a non-gradient version of the logo. If the logo only looks good with a gradient it will not win. If a great looking logo also has a gradient version then that enhances the entry a bit, but it is definitely a secondary factor.

    All logos will be evaluated independently of logotype text. That means I will cut and paste the logos into a plain white space and evaluate them separate from any logotype. In many instances logos will be completely separate from logotype (linkedin company pages, when used as the basis for an icon, etc.). I've found that some logo designs that look balanced when the logotype (or other separating element) is present look off-balanced when evaluated independently of the logotype.
