Link between android APP and the server database needs to be restored

Job Description:

We have restored a website to a new server (same hostname) but the app itself does not seem to communicate with the server. In the app, nothing from the database shows up. Users cannot login, photos or text or services show up.

It seems something in the app coding/config needs adjusting to restore the link properly. The web backend is in codeignite. Can provide access to cpanel to the webserver and send you the android APP.

** PLEASE NOTE **

I do NOT have the APP source code. All I have is the android APK file. I do NOT have root access to the server but SSH/FTP/cpanel/phpmyadmin is available if needed to the server.
