Job Description:
Access Manager Mobile: Requirement Specification
Problem Definition:
We require a cross-platform app for Android and iOS devices that can provide the capability to view PDF, Office Documents (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx), rich text and HTML file formats using the custom fonts that will be downloaded from a REST interface during pre-rendering phase.
The App will be responsible for the following
Provide view and rendering functionality
The application should provide viewing/rendering capabilities for the PDF documents
The application should provide viewing/rendering capabilities for the office documents (.docx,.xlsx, .pptx)
The application should provide viewing/rendering capabilities for .txt, .rtf , .csv and HTML files.
The viewing/rendering should not require any active internet connection.
Providing User Login / Logout
The application will call server side login flow (based on oauth 2.0) to get the access token
The application will store the user token for subsequent calls.
Requesting font for login user from Server
The application will make a REST call to the server to request the fonts that are specific to the user.
The application will cache the downloaded font and provide the reference of the same to the document before presenting it to view.
Requesting font for specific document from server
The application will make a REST call to the server to request the fonts that are specific to the document.
The application will cache the downloaded font and provide the reference of the same to the document before presenting it to view.
Font Meta Data Storage and Management
The application should have a database to maintain the metadata of the fonts that are fetched from the server.
Font Clean Up and Janitor Activities
The application must perform removal of a font file if the file is expired. The expiry will be notified while providing the font file and metadata by the server.
The application will be responsible for other janitor activities to be performed on the local storage.
Supported Platforms:
Android 9 or above
iOS 11 or above
Other Requirements:
Viewer components should be redistribuable without any license restrictions.
The viewer should support basic viewing tools like zoom, orientation etc.
Next Phase Requirements
The application should provide the ability to encode text to be used with secure fonts using REST API calls to the server.
The Application will also provide the ability to decode the encoded text using REST API call to the server.
