We are launching a new niche media brand. Our USP is that all our content is *about* 16 - 21 yr old students (not *for* students). Our content is designed to appeal to professionals who work with and on behalf of students. We help these professionals stay connected with emerging trends in student life around the world.
We are looking to establish a long-term relationship with 7 freelancers to act as Regional Editors, responsible for writing and posting news content to the site.
We publish content across 7 global regions in 5 content categories:
- Housing & Community
- Health & Wellbeing
- Work & Study
- Leisure & Retail
The content types we will regularly commission within the region will include:
- Features: In-depth, original pieces of between 1,500 and 3,000 words that has substantial longevity of interest for our audience.
- Articles: Original news pieces of between 500 and 1,000 words about contemporary developments that are relevant to our target audience, based on multiple sources.
- Wrappers: Short articles of several paragraphs (approx. 150 – 300 words) that summarise a piece of existing content published elsewhere – be that an article, report or feature – but framed with a new angle to make it relevant to our aim and audience. Will be published with a link to the original content.
Copyright will transfer to us, but all content will be published to our global site with attribution to the Regional Editor.
This initial job is to produce 8 wrappers, 2 articles and 1 feature.
We would like you to deliver the wrappers first, then the article, then the feature so that we can provide feedback as you go, and by the end you have a clear idea of what we're looking for.
We expect to commission up to 3 different writers from whom we will select a person to continue working with long-term based on the quality of the writing and our trust in your ability to deliver further content without supervision in the future.
Further details will be provided to selected writers.
