Me llamo Karina soy Mexicana pero vivo en Canadá. I’m looking to write a bio or my very first article for my blog. I want some funky humorous Latina attitude in there to describe who I am. Something short and sweet.
First blog post, 500 words max
I want to outline the importance of managing your money from an early stage in your life. Avoiding the " i was young and dumb" mistakes that can cost you a fortune in the future. The topic of this first blog should be am I ready to start leaning about my personal finances?
Yo soy Karma, born and raised in Guadalajara Mexico, i have a degree in Communications and marketing but I'm currently living in canada for the past 10 years. As a young latina i experienced a lot of things. Im the youngest child, and spoiled as the word can be. I got my first job at the age of 17 as a waitress even though my parents didnt want me to work. That thought me the value of money of an not so early age.
When o move to canada permanently in 2011, my life changed completely. Yep you think you know it all and being independent was the coolest thing ever, LOL now you have to pay for your own everything! Jeeez you mean no more shopping sprees? What about my daily starbucks? The lastest trends that i must have? None of those?
My mama told me: "#Yolo if you want nice things you gotta work hard enough to get them" dont lower your standards if you cant afford it. Well something along those lines. So what did I do? Max out my credit cards, cause Yolo right? I didnt get the concept just right at the begining. Latino moms are great with money. How come my mom would say just Yolo when she couldnt afford the private school, or the expesive phone i asked for, the disneyland trip i kept asking. Well my dear. I would find out a few years later. BUDGETING. But when is it too early to know wat the hell is happening with my money?
