Electronic Weight Indicator Development - Firmware

Job Description:
We are looking for a long-term electronics engineer for our development projects - starting with this electronic weight indicator. This project is half done. All it left unfinished is the firmware.
What happened is a tragedy on our current developer, who was recently diagnosed liver cancer. His doctor told him he would probably have only one year to live. He is a great developer and a good friend of me. On the business side, he still has this leftover project unfinished. We have no choice but to find another engineer taking over his current project and future ones.
He will explain every detail to the new developer to finish this project smoothly.
I am attaching a detailed project description. I put $500 as the firmware fix price but you can just offer any price you think is fair. We will evaluate later on.
