Start and open a file in a program. Filename obtained by barcode scanning.

Job Description:
Hi everyone.
I need:
Scan a barcode(the barcode is a .txt filename)
Search this filename in a specific folder and subfolder(if not find or you find a folder whit this name make an advise)
Open this filename in a program (NcPlot)
Command the program NcPlot for transmit the file to a cnc machine.
Start a stopwatch( i need to know for how much i work on this)
When another filename i scanned save filename date and stopwatch result in a exel file
When the software is stopped remember the time and the filename.
I think the best thing is emulate the barcode scanner as serial device for better identify the input.
We will put serial port and default search path in a .txt file.
