We have a website showing historical findings on flora and fauna in The Netherlands.
Goal is improving current website made with C#, .NET Core 1.0, Angular 2, Typescript, CSS, SQLite/PostgreSQL. Website and Source is hosted on Azure.
Below are the first 3 tasks that need to be done. Future tasks include GraphQL and RDF.
1. GEO - Replace current map with markers in GoogleMaps with OpenLayers and show 11 thematic layers (Paleogeographical) with a legend popup. A sample html file with all the layers will be provided using a static html.
2. CSS - Make current implementation look like the original webdesign. There is a detailed document that describes the differences and also the original webdesign is included.
3. SQL - Current implementation queries databases (SQLite/PostgreSQL) and crawls the internet for sources but the performance is a bit slow. Improvements could be made with proper indexes, data caching, less subqueries and good database design.
