Technical Overview:
Upgrade Microsoft sample code to add new functionality. This will require experience in high speed & efficient graphics manipulation probably involving some use of DirectX type functionality to enable hardware acceleration.

Stream a whole display or an application as an NDI stream on a PC someone is using for work.

Would like a fork of this repo:

With the following changes:
• New UI element to set a “stream name”
• When a screen or application is selected for screen capture it outputs an NDI 5.5 stream using their SDK ([login to view URL]) with the defined name
This is likely to be relatively straight forward but there is a single complex aspect;
• creating an efficient hardware accelerated graphics format converter in order to render the video to the NDI streamer in an acceptable format.
This has been done before; on the GitHub itself there is an “issue” where someone has sought help from Microsoft to do this using Direct3D. The discussion (& probably much of the required code) is here:

Success Criteria:
There should be little ambiguity on scope, UI and approach.
However, performance and efficiency is key here – transmitting a 4K display at 60Hz should be possible on a modern mid-range laptop without significantly impacting the ability to do other work on the machine at the same time.
This is quite ambiguous as a performance target as there are many variables and it is hard to nail down a definite requirement as it is so subjective. It should be achievable as we know from the previous discussion it was done several years ago on hardware available at the time.
