Hello, we have a prototype device of MEL sensor GMBH ([login to view URL] ) . This sensor generate 3d points at 4000 hz with very high precision. The sensor company provides a dll that can be used to get the points via ethernet. They also provide a small example in c++. We would like to connect this 3D acquired points to opengl and have a live configurable view (scaling viewpoint etc...). You get access to our development PC, as well as the conveyer belt via Teamviewer or similar. You can steer the conveyer belt from this PC as if you were sitting next to it. We also provide a normal PTZ camera so you can see what's going on.

An object is put on the conveyer belt and is scanned via a laser triangulation setup (closed box with fpga), the points are sent via ethernet to the PC.
We want a prototype application developed in c++ visual studio 2012 on a windows 7 pro PC where the point stream is shown in an opengl window.
The supplier of the sensor has such an application, but this is closed source, we want to have our own.
This is only the introductory project, if we manage to have a good cooperation, followup projects will follow. They will center around 3D point cloud processing, finding the center of shapes, cleaning up data and writing a framework where many of these scanners are sending data to a unified 3D parser.
