Project Narrative

A basic design of an enclosure that will hold six boxes with scientific experiments is needed. The design is similar to a computer cluster with blades. Please see attached pictures and sketches.

This is the first part of a larger model. On this specific job we will conceptually design the enclosure box, the internal boxes (micro-labs), conceptually place some electronic boards to have an idea of the space allocation (see sketches), and check for basic deformations.

In the near future we will work on the individual boxes and enclosure specific designs while we develop the associated electronics (Arduino based).

Material: Al, aluminum

Enclosure Dimensions: Maximum 50 cm*50cm*36 cm (variable as to minimize weight).

Basic structural analysis

---------------------------------------

The structure weight should be calculated and kept to a minimum as the total weigh with electronics and basic biological and agricultural experiments will be less than 3 kg. A basic stress analysis should be done considering an applied force of 20 N on several part of the surface as well as changes in temperature in the scale [-10:+50] degree Celsius. The maximum deformation acceptable will be 2 mm (designs should be updated to fulfill this requirement).

This work will be part of a project proposal.

- Engineering drawings (2D fabrication drawings)

- Pictures with different perspectives

- Report on basic structural analysis (deformation and stresses)

- Basic presentation (3-5 slides)

Software Requirements

===================

Autodesk Inventor or Autodesk Fusion 360 are preferred but other software maybe used and files converted (still the original files should be made available).

Background Required

==================

Formal education or training in a technical, engineering or physical science discipline. Knowledge of Arduino or Instrumentation and Control will be a plus and you might be considered for other related jobs. Availability in the up coming month to continue with the job if needed.
