I want to find someone to design a circuit that powers a mobile device without using it's battery.
The goal is to make a 100% usable android phone work with just the charger (battery removed).
The phone will be kept plugged to the charger so don't waste power on the circuit.
The phone is a Lenovo A1000.
The tested / working battery's output is ~4.1V while the charger is giving an output of ~5V.
The current is about 0.6A while the phone is running with 1A max for the charger.
I have already tried to plug the charger directly to the phone's + - but it didn't work.
Reducing the Volts of the charger to ~4.1V using resistors or potentiometer also didn't work.
Also tried to use zener diode but they warm up too much / too quickly.
I want you to design a simple/working circuit that I will have to approve.
All the components that you chose should be listed.
The circuit should be efficient (don't waste power when the circuit is on idle) without being complicated.

What you described is exactly right. The step down converter, providing adequate current needs to be made to use it without battery. What you tried will not work. We can design such device for you.
