IDEA OF THE PROJECT
To develop a PROTOCOL TRANSLATOR in connected vehicles that can translate the protocols used by the sensors to a unique language.
Connected vehicles are employed with sensor networks. Each sensor uses different protocol as it is manufactured by different vendor.
The sensors in BMW car might use different protocol language whereas the sensors in Mercedes car might use different protocol language.
When BMW car wants to communicate with MERECEDES car then they cannot communicate since the protocols used by each car is different and they might not understand each other. So there is a need to develop a protocol translator in each vehicle which can translate the language of sensors to a unique language ensuring the accuracy and latency of protocol translator to be as minimum as possible.
1) To develop a protocol translator in each vehicle that can translate the communication protocols at application layer to ensure effective communication among the vehicles
2) Developing distributed IoV controllers in connected vehicles for accessing the information (inside the vehicles using a centralized controller)
3) Analyzing the performance of connected vehicles at varying vehicle speeds and varying number of connected vehicles to ensure low latency and high conversion accuracy using NS-3 Simulator.
