I'm looking for a developer to build a basic macro to extract Excel data and place it into a Word document. If you think another output format would be better, I'm okay with discussing it. Perhaps having an output in Excel vs Word would be better, however I need to have it printed in quarter sheets.
Here's the VBA logic...
1. Users will have data populated in the "Data File" Excel file that's located in the Coop Card Macro folder with various data. The file may not be named as such, so upon execution of the macro, it should prompt the user to select the file to use. The information will be in the following order;
Column A - First Name (Field can be ignored and does not need extraction)
Column B - Last Name (Field can be ignored and does not need extraction)
Column C - Date (This date field will need to be pulled into the output file and will be the same for all cards)
Column D - Exhibitor # (This number will be printed twice on the output file and will also be used to control the macro. When the user executes the macro, they should be prompted with a message "Type in the Exhibitor Number or range". If they user were to enter in a single number, the output file should populate only that data. If the user enters a series or range, it should identify those. Users could type in 1, 5, 18, 19, 55 or they could type in 1-70 for example and it should populate and save accordingly)
Column E - Cage # (If this column has data, it should populate in the two areas on the output file)
Column F - Class (If this column has data, it should populate in the applicable area on the output file)
Column G - Breed (If this column has data, it should populate in the applicable area on the output file)
Column H - Variety (If this column has data, it should populate in the applicable area on the output file)
Column I - Age/Sex (This column may have other data that does not match on the output file and should be skipped/ignored if so. If the data in the column matches one of the four options (Hen/Cock/Pullet/Cockerel) then it should populate accordingly)
Column J - Division (Field can be ignored and does not need extraction)
The other areas of the Coop Card Output File can be ignored since this will contain hand written information.
When the output files are saved, you can have it add a number at the end as shown in the example. For example, if the user selects to print Exhibitor Numbers 1-10 it would produce 3 files. For the full file of this test, it would produce 16 output files for printing. Use the word COOP when responding with a bid so I know you reviewed the specs.
If you have any questions or change ideas that would make it function/look better, please let me know and I'll be happy to hear your thoughts.
