Flash application customisation: experts only!

We want to modify an existing Flash application or create a new one from scratch which does the following:

When a video is recorded and saved to our flash media hosting server we want the videoid(from the video saved), length, name and thumbnail from first frame of the video saved to our db on another server. And also a videoid(from last video watched which could be useful if/when we want to make a forum-like reply functionality).

Also an Event callback function videoSaved (with all relevant arguments) that's triggered when a video is saved could be useful.

We must be able to play videos by clicking links in our site, so we don't need the listings of videos that's in the player we have right now.

I guess a javascript API is the solution. .playVideo(videoid, autoplay?)

Layout

We want to modify the layout to look more like a youtube player(buttons and controls in one or two bars). Can we do that later with a plugin or do you have a layout to provide, something like this?

Please make a bid based on how much time you think it will take for you to modify a fairly standard Flash video application.

Or, alternatively based on how muchtime it would take you to develop such an application from scratch.
