I am looking for a proof of concept Chrome extension for Windows and Mac that will allow the extraction of personal Messenger messages (not Facebook page messages) that have been sent or received since a particular date/time, as well as new messages sent or received while the user is interacting with Messenger.
This is a proof of concept for a feature to be added to an existing business CRM product so it need not be production ready code. Also, this task does NOT include integration with any CRM product.
The date/time mentioned above can be hardcoded for this deliverable and should be GMT, converted if needed for comparison of the message information.
We will need an identifier for the logged in Facebook account - Account ID preferred.
The following data is to be extracted for each message:
Date - a string in GMT
Name - of other party
ID - of other party, this must be some unique identifier that will remain the same for this user
Folder - whether the message is received (inbox) or sent (sent)
Message - the content of the message
The data should be converted to JSON and sent as an HTTP POST. There would be one POST for the initial opening of the Messenger Web page containing all new messages since a particular date, and then one POST whenever a new message is sent or received.
I would prefer that this project not depend on any third party libraries. If you feel this is required you must seek approval for the particular library before accepting this job.
The deliverables must include source code and instructions as required for preparing the source code and installing it in the Chrome browser on both Windows and Mac.
Preference will be given to a developer who has experience building plugins for other browsers as well since we will want to expand this project if successful.
