I'd like a chrome extension that will pass information between two sites where both sites require the user to log in.
The purpose of the extension is to eliminate manual data entry between the two sites.
I'm thinking something like this, but am open to suggestions if this can't work or there's a better way :
1 - user manually opens a Chrome tab to the source system and logs in (Source Tab)
2 - user manually opens a Chrome tab to the destination system and logs in (Destination Tab)
3 - user presses a button on the browser to trigger the chrome extension, which opens a local form where the user enters information that a script will use to identify the source data in the source system. (Local Custom Form)
4 - user enters the information on the form (e.g., a project ID) and presses a button to trigger the data transfer (Custom Form)
7 - extension notifies user that data have been transferred and the user should review the destination site before submitting. (Local Custom Form)
You won't have access to the actual sites for this project because they are internal systems. So the deliverable would operate on and pass data between two different sites on separate domains that you can log in to, navigate pages in , call REST APIs, and manipulate/read the DOM. Leave comments in place so we can make changes to adjust to the actual two sites.
Hope that's clear enough.
