I am a retired IT marketing person, aged 68 years. I am now full time in writing and do all sorts of writing from spiritual to fiction to self-improvement to erotic. So far my writing has been a losing proposition. By leaving the sales and marketing to my publishers who I feel have been exploitative and done a poor job. I have half a dozen works some complete others as work in progress.
I have decided to self-publish on Kindle owned by Amazon I invite people especially from Bangalore who moonshine or those who have retired and develop web sites as a hobby.
No special order. Some may be repeated.
1) Provide a facility for readers and those who happen to visit the site to be able to read a few pages of books published or under creation.
2) Place to show case each book
3) A place to invite readers or anyone to pose their questions and seek answers.
4) Invite reader’s suggestions and reply them where necessary. At least acknowledge all.
5) A place where I can put and share inspirational passages, narratives, poetry with visitors. No purpose except add body to site.
6) A blog where I can write provocative and thoughtful pieces to touch, inspire and move visitors while subtly promoting my works
7) Run email campaigns to promote book. It means maintaining emails
8) To maintain a thread for communicating with all sorts of people
9) It needs to be connected to two other items like Facebook & Twitter. The site should load quickly, be easy and fast to navigate and at a glance know where what is. It (text and pictures) should be colorful with vibrant colours and if possible can be seen on a smart phone.
10) For each book that is mentioned here – completed and not published, under progress, being imagined
