Purpose: Produce one or several concept designs for an enclosure made for the Microsoft Surface GO tablet. This enclosure will contain 2 speakers, 16000 mAh batteries and a PCB with several ports.
Background: This product is meant turn a tablet into a more functional accessibility device for people who are unable to speak. As such it provides longer battery life, inputs not available on consumer devices, mounting and stand options, louder speakers, and preferably some amount of ruggedization.
-Incorporate a folding stand
-Incorporate a handle
-Incorporate 2 speakers (link to data sheet provided)
-Have enough room to contain sufficient batteries. Currently contains 4 batteries that are 7.0mm thick, 60mm wide and 90mm long
-Contain a pcb with sufficient clearance from batteries and speakers. This does not have to be modelled but the room should be available.
-Have the following ports:
2 x 3.5mm switch inputs (identical mechanically and electrically to 3.5mm stereo jacks)
2 x USB A Ports
1 x USB C Port (For charging only)
1 x 3.5mm Audio Out (Some method should be use to make clear it is not an input e.g. physical separation from the input jacks)
-Designed for end user assembly. By user assembled we mean that the end user would purchase the tablet separately from our product, so even if a tablet is not in the enclosure there should be no exposed electronics or internals. Also the tablet should be insertable without tools (e.g. snap fit or silicone).
-Camera on Tablet should not be covered
-Flat surface that will be able to accommodate 75 mm vesa mounts. These mounts often include the 100mm mounting holes as well so the speakers/handle/stand should not interfere with the mounting plate. Example picture will be included.
-Aesthetically looks professional and sleek.
-Should be comfortable to hold and carry around.
-Waterproofing and drop protection features would be valuable.
-End product will be manufactured mostly from injected plastic / rubber overmold. Which should be taken into account.
