Illustrator for children's book -- 2

Job Description:
I have a draft of a children's book I would like to publish. My family has several Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dogs, and we are active in showing and breeding them.
My book would be based on a true story of a boy we have who is now 6 years old. We considered him a good prospect to exhibit in dog shows, but he injured his jaw when he was about 6 months old, and wound up having half of his lower jaw removed. That altered his appearance drastically, and caused his tongue to hang out of his mouth all the time.
The book would tell the story of his birth, his rearing along with his littermates, his accident, the treatment and surgery (and his fear of that), how his life changed, and how his mother finally taught him that he now had a new purpose in life. It is my hope that children would take away the lesson that everyone has a purpose, and that it might have to be adapted to situations as they arise.
I have at least 10 illustrations in mind. Please let me know if you are interested, and how we would proceed.
