Better World Productions is in the process of producing a documentary about the life and legacy of Rabbi Meir Shapiro (RMS) - a visionary born in 1887, but most active between 1919-1933.
SETTING: Poland, 1923
Due to grinding poverty and rampant anti-semitism, Jews have been scattering more and more around the globe. In the following sequence (2-minutes of which maybe 1-minute is sketches), a young RMS wants to propose a study program to a hall filled with great sages and leaders of the generation. He believes the program will provide global connection for Jews still loyal to tradition.
RMS is still only a local "boy wonder" and a relative unknown to the sages of the generation. Privately, he has a warm relationship with the sage all agree is the leader of the generation - known as "The Chofetz Chaim" (the name of his most famous book).
WHAT WE NEED: We are looking to create 5 roughly 1-2 minute "animated" segments to express historical moments in the narration. We are looking for a "hand drawn sketch" style of animation with not necessarily a lot of motion. The animation could range from simple motion between layers (background - foreground elements) up to motion within the hand drawn elements. We have uploaded reference photos of the convention that would be one of the segments that would need animation.
IMPORTANT! We ask that you submit a single sketch (everyone will do the same one) so we can accurately gauge styles.
IMAGE DESCRIPTION: POV is from behind RMS as he stands at the podium looking out at the first row, seen clearly (maybe 6 faces - 3 per side), second row less so, and the filled room only by hint. So we'll see the back of his head (wearing his hat) and the audience in a bit of distance with a perspective looking out into the great mass of people and space. The listeners are excited about what they're hearing.
We're opting for a monochrome look, so consider shading but not necessarily any colors.
