I am writing this project request for a freelancer with experience in setting up home servers to remotely access my network. The main goal of this project is to help me set up a home server for hosting my multisite WordPress, Plex server and database, DAM Server for a large collection of 3D and 2D objects (and want them viewable online for both 3D & 2D, a remote printer, 2 Octoprint installations, and a music database (similar to iTunes). I currently have 4 Libre Le Potatoes, a Raspberry Pi 4, 2 6TB hard drives (one of which already contains music files and the Plex server, which is currently running on the Raspberry Pi).
The freelancer will be responsible for setting up and configuring the home server, and for making sure that all the data is properly transferred without loss. The freelancer should also provide cost-effective options for any additional equipment that may be required, keeping in mind that I want to avoid breaking the bank. The freelancer should have experience with home server applications and setups, and be familiar with NAS systems.
I am willing to assist with the project and have some mild to advanced programming skills, but ultimately need someone with experience to guide me through the process. I also have a used Dell PowerEdge 2500 that appears to work, it just needs some hard drives.
The freelancer will be required to remotely access my network and provide guidance for onsite configuration. The freelancer should have good communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with me to achieve the desired end result, while keeping costs as low as possible. Additionally, the freelancer should ensure that it is easy for me to back up the data, and that the project can be divided up into manageable milestones.
