In July of last year my company, Ink Factory Clothing Co., bought another company 20 miles away called TK sportswear. TK Sportswear is a 40 year old company, is slightly larger than ours and have a great reputation in their area (the upper valley). We are both in the screen printing business, but our company does embroidery, vehicle graphics and ad specialty products. The additional services could provide helpful to TK's existing customers.
We have been operating in two location for the past 7 months. We have not hidden the ownership change, but we have not done anything to promote it either. We will be consolidating our production into one location in the next 6-8 weeks and feel like it is time to send our customers a letter explaining the change and how it's good for them. We will be retaining a sales office in the old location for at least the next year. The previous owner is working with us and will continue to be a part of the organization for the forseeable future.
My goal is to clearly inform the customer of the change and how it is good for them and for us. I hope to generate some buzz that will translate to sales opportunities.
I am sure there is additional info needed. I will be happy to provide anything necessary.
