Job Description:
This project is to simulate in MATLAB/SIMULINK a smart solar portable charger which might be used for camps and outdoor or in developing countries in which there is a shortage of electricity. The purpose of the charger is to charge lithium-ion batteries of mobile phones. In this project, I want to implement a smart charger by adding an extra simple circuit to charger to control and enable it to charge and disconnect the device battery from the charger at lower and upper limits for the battery state of charge (SOC) respectively. As a result of this, the lifetime of the battery can be increased. The charger should be designed to charge the battery when the state of charge (SOC) decreases below the lower limit specified (20%) . On the other hand, the charger should disconnect or stop charging the battery when the SOC increases above the upper limit ( 80% ) as stated. see attached
