Image /Audio / Video upload from Android to the SQL Server

We have an android app. We need to now have a feature where a phone user can upload image from the gallery/camera or audio from the gallery or microphone or video from the gallery our the camera.
The files need to be compressed first and then uploaded on the server. When other user downloads the same file should be decompressed if required.
The freelancer is supposed to work with our team handling android side and server side coding. So the primary job is providing the consultancy for the image/audio/video upload and download from and to the multiple Android mobile devices.
