The software is in 3 parts (x) 2 main and 1 'setup' (1) Program to be run on clients machine (windows *.*) that interfaces with webcam and streams it to a server in a config file (see (3)). This program will require authentication of username and password against an sql db held on the server. the program must include a 'preview' box and a start and stop button as well as some small menus and small bits n pieces (skinnable background etc blah blah). (2) Program to run on remote server that will accept the video stream(s) and display them on a webpage associated with the username and password (without just linking to the broadcasting computer) preferably in a Java applet. this will require some video compression as i want it to run fairly decentish on a 56k. I want a decentish live stream, not a continous upload of .jpg's by ftp or some such. I would prefer this to be able to be run on *nix and win machine but if not both then *nix will suffice (3) This program will create the config file for (1) and encrypt it. config file will hold server address and maybe some other data Please note i have drawn and wrote up a slightly better description and attached in a .zip it may not very technical but it should provide a clear enough picture as to my needs. - a Big thank you to all of you who have replied so far.

(1) to run on all windows machines (2) to run on NT/*nix (although just *nix will suffice) (3) to run on all windows machines
