inserting a transmit status on the button click

This will require an inserting the status of the transmitted record. "Transmitted on {date}" then if not transmitted the status should say "Ready for transmission". The status should all be on the view page of all the records. Also, will need to update the previous project, when you click on export button it will go to [url removed, login to view](page) then view only the selected record/s...something like "Record/s for {firstname}{lastname} has been successfully written". I have the button on the [url removed, login to view] for the final transmission. The function of that button is only a link to the online page.

What I need is to insert the transmission status on a separate table from the mysql then join the 2 mysql tables "customer and status table". I know that this look simple. I will also need to upload a file using ftp. The ftp code(php) has already been done and will just need to add that code when you click on the "Transmit now". Please see the screenshot below.
