We run a very well written Russian language classified advert website from London, United Kingdom. The site runs in 5 Russian cities. We are partly owned by a top 5 global internet player that you will know.
The site uses Linux, Apache, MySQL, mod Perl and Mason.
We would like to build a marketing database using the above tools, which will download user emails, date of posting, and the category and city site the advert was posted to, from the main database.
The marketing database will be used to generate email lists to market to our clients. You will build this functionality.
We will provide you the database schema. Each city has a category structure of parent categories and child categories eg Moscow/for sale/clothes
Child categories can have their own child categories.
We envisage the tool you develop will list all cities with a + next to them. When we click the + the page will show the categories under it with +s next to them so we can drill down further. Each category might have a tick box next to it so for example if we wanted to send an email to all car advertisers we would click the tick box next to:
Moscow/autos/cars and say St Petersburg/autos/cars.
If we find the right candidate and they can do this task very well, there is likely to be a stream of work after this project.
Please let us know where you are geographically based and provide some sample code from a recent project. We want someone whose coding is similar to ours. Please be prepared to talk us through the code you supply over the telephone.
