We are looking for someone to modify the
AzDGDatingLite script to suit our needs, install it on
our website, and de-bug as necessary to get it up and
running smoothly. The script can be downloaded for
free at [url removed, login to view] and comes with a GNU
General Public License which states that anyone is
free to use and change the software. We have an
account with a hosting service that provides 50
megabytes of storage and 10 gigabytes of bandwidth
each month. This account includes PHP, MYSQL, and
other services provided through CPanel.
The changes we would like made are the following:
1. Remove all references to AzDGDatingLite or AzDG and
change to our site name.
2. Change color scheme to lighter colors. (maybe you
can use the same colors we have chosen for our index
3. Remove any and all references to how many users are
online or who is online.
4. Remove "Powered by AzDG" link.
5. This script is only for providing free service to
all users, and it should stay that way, but we want to
have an administrative option added to "switch on" pay
memberships at a later date if desired such as if the
site will be relaunched with a new method of
operation. Pay membership options must be invisible to
users until "switched on". Payments would be accepted
6. The search screen needs to be expanded to include
search fields for the following. (All this data is
collected in the profile, but a lot of it is not
currently available for search.)
a) User ID#
b) Age Range
c) Seeking For - (Men Seeking Women or Women Seeking
Men only). This option will have to be supported by a
change to the "Seeking For" choices when completing a
d) Type of Relation (remove sex services option)
g) City (no drop down list and not case sensitive)
h) Marital Status
i) Children (yes or no)
j) Height Range
k) Weight Range
p) Sort results by (number of results on a page)
7. Currently, if a person clicks on the back button
from a profile that has been chosen from search
results, then an error results and the whole search
must be done again in order to choose another profile
to view from the search results list. This must be
changed so that when a person clicks back, they simply
return to the search results page as expected.
8. Include text field on the dating script Home Page and the Registration Page with the option for us to add or change that text as we see fit. (On the first page, there is already some text.
This text will probably be something we want to change
or add onto.)
9. We want an internal messaging system for sending and receiving messages. When a message is received in the internal inbox, then
the user should receive an e-mail at his home e-mail
address that says, "You have a message waiting at (our
site name) from user ID# xxxx". After a message is read, the user should have an option to save this message by forwarding it to their
home e-mail address. All messages should be deleted automatically after one month, whether they've been read or not. Users' home e-mail addresses and internal message address must be kept confidential by the system, and not available to hackers, robots, or spiders. We don't want anyone receiving spam because of our site. This internal messaging system will replace the send e-mail option currently available.
10. There should be a feature to express interest
without sending a personally written message, such as
sending an "I'm Interested" message to another user.
This could be done with a link at the bottom of a
profile that says "Send Interest". When that link is
pressed, a message may be sent that states,
"I saw you on (our site name) and
I'm interested. You can find my profile there under
user ID# xxxx. I hope to hear from you soon. Take
Care, (Insert user's first name)." The sender should
see a statement that says "Send this message to the selected user" with a button to send.
11. Whenever automatic correspondence is sent, our
site name should be a link to our website.
12. We want the necessary code for our index
page that would provide a QUICK search of the dating
script database. It should be in a small box that
would be placed in the right column. Perhaps it would
include only search fields for "Seeking For"(man or
woman) and "age range". Quick search already exists
on the home page of the dating script, but it
includes different search fields. Maybe you could
change that, and then we could use that code somehow
to create the search box for the index page.
We are not interested in other features such as chat
or whatever. We are trying to keep storage and
bandwidth requirements within the limits stated above.
At least in the beginning. I know I've provided a lot
of detail, but many of these changes should not be
difficult. We are not interested in the more advanced
versions of this script available from AzDG because we
don't like everything about them. However, we are sure
some of you out there have already completed similar
projects before, so this shouldn't be too hard for
