1) News and Opinion Theme.
Simply put, I want something that works/looks like Twitchy.com. With the ability to change color schemes and simple graphic elements like buttons and Sidebar headings. If changing those elements is too much, a rectangle with rounded corners with an admin page to change color, or load an image for the background.
I also played around with the Theme “Sampression Lite”. I really like the layout and admin, especially the Logo upload page and sticky posts.
Sampression’s “recent posts” in the loop doesn’t work with the Disqus plugin. It has the number of comments in the upper right, and Disqus expands that from just a number to “# of comments # of reactions” and that obscures the title. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how bring that down beneath the tags under the comments.
Sampression worked really well on different devices, Iphone and Ipad, but I kept breaking it trying to fix the comment issue.
2) Poll Theme.
A single page, flexible width (to work with phones and Ipads) that has Side bar 1 (SB1) on the left, Side bar 2 (SB2) on the right, a header that only holds the logo and title widgets, a footer that will hold a email form widget, and meta.
SB1/2 only has to hold one custom Paypal donate button each, usually like on the left, and dislike on the right.
The loop will contain a single post, image, or video. I am comfortable using [login to view URL] Advanced Youtube embed plugin.
I’ll use Disqus for comments with the post. Disqus has and ad service that I am thinking of using under the post.
3) A Email form widget that can be used to sell 3 items:
a. Item 1
b. Item 2, with one user entry field.
c. Item 3, with two user entry fields.
The form response should include the title of the page the it was clicked on, and a user entry comment field. Items 1-3 will be used to sell fixed priced merchandise through my Paypal account.
The Email widget will be used with both themes.
