Job Description:
Aim:
To design a website and app to provide online sales of steel products and digital infrastructure to manage the stock, deliveries and invoicing.
Scope of works:
Create an online store using PHP and MySQL where customers can buy products and the business can track orders.
Create an app that can be used in conjunction with the online store for staff and customers to manage the fulfilling of orders.
Functionality:
The website/app needs to have the following functionality:
Ability for customers to have their own account where they can log in and place orders/see the status of orders
Ability for customers to set their own preferences for notifications ie when they get notified (what stage/s of the process do they want notifications?) and how they get notified (email, SMS)
Ability for the business to set payment terms individually for each customer
Customer to be able to set unique delivery address for each individual order
Website to automatically create delivery cost based on delivery address, overall order quantity and longest/heaviest piece
Differentiate between stock sections/lengths of steel and irregular sections/lengths and be able to suggest changing the order to accommodate cheaper stocked items.
Option for the customer to split any order into stocked sections/lengths and irregular sections/lengths so they can get the stock items delivered straight away and leave the others on back order.
Website must be capable of creating efficient delivery runs for drivers using Google Maps and our database of truck info
Website must be capable of creating efficient truck load up instructions using our database of truck capacity info
Website must automatically send tax invoices to customers when an order is paid for
Website must create delivery time window for customers based on delivery runs, this should be able to learn as it goes from early/late deliveries over the previous month
Website needs to notify the business when stocks levels of any section are running low, this should be able to learn and update from the previous three months worth of usage for each steel section
Website must create unique barcode for each order, the app then needs to be able to scan these at different times throughout process and update the status of the order and email/SMS the customer to let them know of the progression of the order through the system
The app needs to prompt the user to take a photo when the order is scanned at certain points, the photo needs to be automatically uploaded and emailed/SMS’d to the customer when they get notified of the progression of the order through the system

Please provide an optional price for creating the website/app plan (ie what buttons are on what page etc…). This may be helpful if you are planning on using a template to create the site. I can provide a website/app plan if necessary.
We would like this site to be created on an offline server for testing, once it’s working we would like the files sent to us so we can upload them to our server to go live.
