Alice is 45 years old and a senior manager within a large financial company. She has
two children Max and Anne who are 7 and 13; her husband John is a sales man who
travels up and down the country as part of his job. As a result, Alice spends a lot of
time looking after the children on her own.
Anne is 13 she attends Ballet and singing classes during the week and does ballroom
dancing at the weekend. Alice has to take her to these classes and pick her up, Anne
also has lots of homework at the moment, which she needs Alice’s help with.
Max has football classes once a week and brings a book home from school to read every
night he has homework once a week.
Alice has an elderly mother who is widowed and is frequently lonely and wants Alice to
visit her more often.
Alice does not see her friends as much as she would like but does manage to go out with
them once a month for a drink.
She is a member of a gym but does not go as much as she would like because she feels
she does not have enough time. Alice got promoted to senior manager 2 months ago
and finds her workload has increased as a result. She also has to do an evening class
once a week.
As Alice is always in a hurry the family tend to have convenience or take away food and
Alice tries to have a healthy lunch when she is at work. She drinks wine and often has a
glass to calm her down in the evening. She used to smoke but gave it up 15 years ago.
2 weeks ago Alice had a heart attack the doctor has warned her she may have another
one if she does not change her lifestyle
Requirements of the Patient case study review
