-I'm looking to have all of the frame and subframe/suspension components of a specific model of automobile dimensioned to .dwg or other compatible format. I don't care what environment you model in, but I need the hypothetical components to be accurate to a practical tolerance. These need to be hypothetically mountable if i were to machine/fabricate the parts.
-I am also looking for the same with the body.
-I would like someone who can get the dimensions of our intended drivetrain components and incorporate them into a file to show the vehicle mostly assembled w/ drivetrain, chassis + suspension, body, and an intended color scheme. maybe an animation. If you do good clean work, I'll hire you again to do the version w/ custom chassis.
-Thirdly, I am also looking for someone with experience in custom performance to work with me on a custom chassis, subframe, and suspension; designed for fabrication mostly with steel tubing, but I am open on the alloy we design for. The other stuff I need is mostly drafting work. This is more along the lines of engineering, but I am looking more for someone who has done the fabrication/has hands on experience with common track rules than an engineer that can only give hypothetical information by modelling. I want a safe structure when i turn this over for fabrication. I would rather build something reliable than take unnecessary risks with weight at the end of the day, but the goal will be to improve on the weight and performance of the original design and incorporate frame mounted cage under the body. The external body should be preserved, but i would be interested in a custom design of the body panels to make them more modular and easier to exchange after cosmetic damage. I am interested in using 1/8" polymer for the portions of the body that are not going to be exposed to heat greater than 120 Celcius.
-I will be putting other ads up for RFQ on design of the engine and trans modifications I want to do. I will want someone who can do some stress and thermal modelling and capture video for us to use in promotional content. The engine and trans will be conventional for beyond the specs we are going for. This work will involve oversizing bearings, caps, re-bore on trans casing, cooling modifications to rotating assembly and valvetrain, etc. We'll be following other builds for this part.
If you can get access locally to take measurements on the vehicle, that's ideal. If not, when the project takes a little more structure, I can source a vehicle for you to take measurements on. I am looking to collect quotes, and then work will begin in a few months once I've collected the hardware.
Terms: Ideally you'll agree to confidentiality, and my entity will retain the rights to the design. Flat rate would obviously be ideal, to be paid as progress is made. I value reliability and morality over credentials.
I imagine that the engineering part will probably be a different contractor than the information collecting, dimensioning, and drafting contractors. I'm hoping someone can get us already dimensioned drawings to use so we don't have to spend as much time taking specs on the physical hardware. PM me to know the vehicle we are working with.
I am happy to hire out of internationally for initial drafting/dimensions to reputable help. I will be hiring the fabrication out locally to reputable shops.
Please provide examples of your automotive related work. If you want to do the stress modeling, show me an example of what complexity you have done this, and what software environment you'll be using. If you know where I can get the accurate dimensions/drawings, I'm happy to pay a finders fee.
