I need a two-page mobile friendly website -- that functionally, should be very simple. However, I want it to look and feel classy.
I need a landing page that collects personal information from the persons who intentionally go there – via a QR they find in a book or other printed matter – with the intent of leaving their information so that we can contact them later, to direct them to a fundraising site which annually has a different URL each year.
The domain is ecclesiolae.com. It is registered on GoDaddy. For my own ease of billing etc. I would prefer to to use GoDaddy for Hosting.
Page 1 -- The [login to view URL] domain root could be just an image, for now, with a blurb on why the page is there, and a command button to the landing page.
Page 2 -- The landing page is [login to view URL]\BFP
BFP = Bikes Fight Poverty, and is a fundraising tool for paying for materials to build homes in Mexico. We ride our bicycles from downtown Phoenix to Rocky Point, raise money for materials, and then we make trips to Rocky Point with unskilled construction volunteers to build the houses. We work with [login to view URL] , they do the rest.
GoDaddy hosting includes "databases". I assume you know how to make use of them. I'd prefer to not have an additional data collection subscription e.g. MailChimp. But if that is needed, then so be it. However, I don’t think the record count will be substantial. The landing page could simply email the info to me and I put it in a spreadsheet. However, we will need some way to unsubscribe / opt out via emails that we send out.
An example of the external fundraising page from 2021: [login to view URL] We did a miserable job of raising funds. Julie and I should be raising tens of thousands. Our weakness is lack of time to fundraise and lack of a low-key way to systematically solicit them with their permission. This landing page is a way for us to fix that.
Ecclesiolae is a Latin word roughly translated as little churches. The domain will eventually be a site for various published materials for small groups for church, and the site for a retreat (several houses and a meeting building, for weekend men’s & women’s retreats and small group leaders training) that we (my wife and I) hope to build soon either around Prescott or Flagstaff.
Julie, my wife, is cc’d on this email. We lead a mid-week small group in our home which we intend to expand into training others for similarly leading groups. [login to view URL]
We regularly give away materials for these groups. We intend to add a sticker inside the front cover that says why we do what we do, that we don’t ask others to pay for the books we give away, and suggests going to [login to view URL]\BFP and registering for news about our BFP fundraising. That’s where this first step for the website comes in. We need a safe place for people go to give us their info, on their own time, as God or their own hearts may lead them… …whether via the stickers in books or the variety of other mechanisms of contact through Julie’s real estate team and through the outdoor adventure sports in which we participate.
