In our business, we transfer discs (miniDiscs, DVDs, etc) to video files. Often these files are in .vob format.
At the moment we use a video converter called Wondershare Ultimate Video Converter to transfer these files, however this process is quite buggy and difficult with a large volume of files. It appears the program has a phase where it builds an 'index' for the file, then transfers it.
Looking for someone to develop a simple program that will take folders containing vob files, transfer them to the desired output format (MPEG-4 format is really only necessary for this). Ideally this program will ingest any files that are transferred into the specified input folder, automatically transfer them to the output format and place them in the specified output directory.
Files are organised as follows:
Folder named after order number e.g. 54123, containing vob files 54123 Disc [login to view URL], 54123 Disc [login to view URL] etc
>>> files rendered to MP4
outputs to folder 54123 with files 54123 Disc [login to view URL], 54123 Disc [login to view URL] etc
Operating System: Windows 10
I suggest using FFMPEG to render the files. Solution needs to handle large quantities of files, so multithreaded application is required, or multiple renders at once to maximise available computing power.
Future work to support different folders containing images etc to come.
