Profit from Patents
This is an advertsing brochure for the Patents Information Network which I produced whilst working at the British Library.
I am a graduate in Chemistry and Oceanography and began my career by working in scientific publishing. Principally, I was involved in producing scientific abstracts journals and their associated databases. From editorial work I then moved into information work and became a searcher of scientific, technical and patent databases. From 1991-2003, I was part of the Patents Information team at the British Library and spent 50% of my time carrying out patent and trademark searches for paying customers. From July 2003 to May 2011, I was the Information Scientist at A.A. Thornton & Co (patent agents) principally carrying out chemical patent searches but also electrical and mechanical patent searches as well. I also had responsibility for managing the firm’s library. Less
